ABOUT
Shajeeah Mumtaz is a Pakistani-Muslim-American photographer with a deep love for the outdoors. She finds inspiration in the untamed wilderness, in places that make her feel small. Through her lens, she seeks to capture the fragile beauty of these landscapes - not merely as backdrops for adventure, but as living ecosystems worthy of preservation and protection. Her hope is that her images inspire others to explore these places themselves, and to carry that same sense of stewardship with them wherever they go. Whether she’s above treeline, beneath the ocean’s surface, or gazing up at the night sky, she’s chasing the same fleeting moments that make her feel infinite. And of course, the sunset.
That sense of wonder doesn't stay outside. Back home, she channels it into her work as an engineer working on telescopes - helping build the eyes that will peer into the deepest corners of the universe.
